More Notepad Covers

I'm still waiting for owires to arrive (Monday, says UPS), however, I did make a number of covers, all ready to be bound and finished.  I love these so much!  So easy, but pack such a visual punch, and useful, too!

Notepad Cover Details:
chipboard is Close to My Heart My Creations Cube, with square divided (I use a rotary cutter to do this)--each cube makes three complete notepad cover sets
blue papers are all from CTMH level 2 Magnifique pack
aqua paper is from SEI
white/flowered paper is from My Mind's Eye
scraps for matting the monogram--2 1/4 x 3; 2x2, and 1 3/4 x 1 3/4
monogram is CTMH Baroque Alphabet clear acrylic stamp set
embellishments are CTMH pearl opaques and CTMH green/blue sparkles
ink is CTMH pacifica, chocolate, and lagoon

Explosion Box Scraplift

I really love this idea that Ann from November Rose came up with--the explosion box!  She has the directions on her blog.  I had to "borrow" it to make little Christmas boxes for my adult bookkeeping students this year.  I'm forever trying to come up with a cute something for them that is adorable--and not too expensive!  Always a challenge.  So, thanks, Ann, for letting me scraplift a little.  I know my students will love them.

The front box with the ribbon is made from Close to My Heart BT duos Level II Mistletoe paper packet; I really love this paper--traditional and Christmasy, but adaptable to everyday use, too.    The other papers are from My Mind's Eye "Signature Christmas."   They are waiting to be filled with goodies prior to tying up with ribbon.

Notepad Covers

I was given the notepad cover/pen set on the left from a friend (which I promptly distressed with coffee!!).  Isn't it fabulous??  Of course, I had to scraplift it for Christmas gifts this year, so I practiced first by making one for DD, MW.  One lesson learned is that it would be better to use 1/2" owires to bind it rather than 3/8", so I jumped online and ordered some for the next batch!

For both:  We used the MyCreations Cubes from CTMH and divided each of the sides.  This means that 3 notebooks can be made from one set of cubes.
The monogram is the Baroque Alphabet.  The girls and I fell in love when we saw this stamp set--stunning in person-well worth the investment.
Also needed are a pen for inside, a short length of ribbon, and 3 x 5 top-glued notepads, which I get in a pack of 12 from my local Staples.

The notepad is glued inside and the length of ribbon is looped under the notepad when it is adhered down.  To bind, you need a Cinch or a Bind-it-all or similar.  I like my Bind-it-all b/c I don't love the round holes made by the Cinch. Totally a personal decision there.  People either love the rectangular holes or hate 'em it seems.

Left Notepad--paper from CTMH Level 2 Magnifique paper set  and opaques.  The larger mat piece measures 2 1/4" x 3" and the stamp is on a 2 x 2 square.

Right Notepad--paper from CTMH Level 2 Mistletoe paper and pearl opaques.  I double-mat my monogram.

Congrats to the Grad Card

Two of my adult bookkeeping students are finishing up in their studies this week, so I made each of them a card to celebrate.  Blue and gold are our school colors, so I used some basic DCWV cardstock in those colors, layered them on cards made of white cardstock.

I heavily distressed the blue and yellow pieces using the CTMH edge distresser, as well as the sanding block and sandpaper from the CTMH distressing kit.  The stamp is a combination of two sets--the flower stem is from Flourishes, and the flower is from the Heart to Heart set.  It is matted on black, distressed cardstock.  I used second generation stamping using Pacifica ink to achieve the tone-on-toe flower look.  The stem, btw, is stamped in Desert Sand.  The Congrats Grad sentiment is from a Papertrey Ink sentiments set.   I also lightly sponged Pacifica blue ink around the edges of the white cardstock.

Inside each is an inspirational quotation on vellum

Home Dec Fun with CTMH

Friday night I went to my upline's house where she has the most fabulous craft room!  It is HUGE!  I'm green with jealousy.  But, it is hard to stay jealous, knowing what a great person she is...generous and hardworking--and FUN, too.  The group of women there were a joy to hang out with--big shout out to Jennifer, Amy, Tara, Kassi, and Danae!

We made this little home dec project while there...all the products are CTMH, needless to say...mistletoe papers, stickles bling, stamps from various sets, and the mix and mingle album, which is a mix of chipboard and acrylic album pages (8 pages total).  We used 3 for this project, and only used one side, although it would be fun to do something on the other side

Introducing the "I'm Always the Hostess Club"

I am introducing a new club here at WinterHeart Paper Art--It's the
 "I'm Always the Hostess" Club

The bottom line is, if you purchase $200 within a four-month period, I will give you a $25 gift certificate for every $200 you spend for the entire year of club membership!  You may earn as many gift certificates as you want! Why is it called the I'm Always the Hostess Club?  Because, $25 is the reward for Hostesses of Home Gatherings whose sales are between $150 and $249.  So, every time your purchases add up to $200, it's like you're your own hostess!

Here are the details and rules:
  • Email me or call to join.
  • Commit to purchase $200 worth of products (not including tax and shipping) within 4 months of your date of join.  You do NOT have a monthly minimum.  You can spread it out however you want, but keep in mind tax and shipping apply to each order.
  • After your first $200 is reached, whether in one month, two, three, or four, I will snail mail you a gift certificate for $25.
  • For each additional cumulative $200 in product purchases, you will receive another $25 gift certificate!  Earn as many gift certificates as you wish.
  • Your membership will last until the 1st anniversary date of joining, at which point you will have the option to renew.
  • You have the option to order directly on my website http://suzwinter.myctmh.com/, or via email or phone.
  • You will still qualify for any additional deals available from Close to My Heart available during your order period (s).

Now for the fine print:

  • If you do NOT reach $200 in product purchases in the first four months, you will be dropped from the club.  You may re-enroll, but you start from $0 again.  I will send out a reminder prior to the expiration of the four months.
  • To redeem gift certificates, you MUST place your order by email or phone.  I can also provide a fax number if that is your preference.  You can not redeem gift certificates on my website.
  • Any amount on a redemption order that is over $25 will count towards your next gift certificate.  For instance, if you order $60 of products (not including tax and shipping), $35 will count towards your next certificate.
  • Gift certificates will only be given for cumulative purchase totals of $200.  No partial certificates will be rewarded.

Questions?  Be Sure to Email or Ask!
