Ahhhhh! Such a lovely Father's Day (like the saying goes...there's a special place in Heaven for the father of three girls!) Just a quiet day around the house, although Mister did take the opportunity to do a little badly-needed tree-trimming after spending all day Saturday riding with his Cyclopath buddies. That was his Father's Day fun, just a day early.
Scott & Leah came over to help Sarah, Maura, and I celebrate Mister. Of course that meant FOOD. Lots and lots of yummy food. We started out with my homemade chevre on Mister's homemade Sicilian bread, topped with chopped tomatoes and basil from the garden, and then a buttery slice of avacado! YUM! The main course was a pork roast on the grill, fingerling potatoes, and a mixed green salad. The piece de resistance was a cream cheese pound cake (with my own neufchatel!) in a bundt pan. Friend T- sent me that recipe, and boy was it worthy. Fresh, local strawberries topped off that little calorie fest quite nicely, along with the presents, of course.
